Meet Aaron, Amber, & Family!
Among many reasons why I love photography, my favorite one is the ability to capture the candid moment. Candid silliness, candid love, candid emotion, the candid spirit of a individual, the candid interactions of human beings… The Thompson family is full of so much wonderful silliness, love and kindness! It was such a pleasure to take this families portraits. The whole family was in good spirits the whole time, even though the Antelope Valley wind was relentless and all the girls had to keep fixing their hair. It was so frustrating for me though! I mean, why can’t a girls long beautiful hair just stay in place regardless of the wind?! Hah. Anyway, we all managed and in the end we walked away with some really great family photos.
My favorite little thing about this whole shoot was the fact that their youngest daughter had a piece of gum in her mouth the whole time. At one point, her mom had asked her to spit it out and instead, she quickly stuck the gum toward the back of her mouth, where it couldn’t be seen when she smiled. Now, I’m not sure if mom appreciated that, but I found it hysterical and I still do! She had the gum in her mouth the whole shoot. My favorite photo from the shoot is of the three girls walking next to each other, with the youngest in the middle. She has a huge, open-mouthed smile on her face and you can totally see the whole piece of gum in her mouth! Hahaha! I love it! To me, that just shows what it is to be a child. It’s similar to looking at the world through a child’s eyes. It’s hard for me to say what my favorite thing to photograph is because I just love photographing everything and everyone, but I think children are my absolute favorite humans to photograph.
I hope you enjoy these family photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Until next time,
Capture memories and climb on!
