A Sicilian Romance Wedding

May 18, 2020

Hello Friends!

A while back, like… LAST YEAR… I attended my first styled photoshoot. This particular shoot set the bar really high for future styled shoots. I mean, when it comes to styled shoots, it can’t really get any better than you being one of only 5 or 6 photographers (I can’t remember exactly how many of us were there lol), gorgeous models who look picture perfect together and are super comfortable in front of the camera (when I showed the gallery to my Mom, she thought they were an actual couple! That’s some good modeling haha), and perfectly sunny costal weather! Oh, not to mention that the hostess was, and has been, among the kindest and most genuine people I think I’ve ever met. Also, she supplied food and drinks for the photographers. She had me at “lunch will be included…” Haha! šŸ˜€

I went to this shoot with my friend Christina, who since has moved to the midwest against my wishes and I may or may not still be slightly bitter about that. Anywaaaay… Hehe We had to get up early and head down to Laguna Beach from Edwards AFB about 4 hours earlier than the time of the shoot. We had to plan for likely traffic and! my friend had bought herself something from Best Buy that we were picking up before the shoot… I can’t remember what it is now… But I do remember she was really excited about it. Haha Again, I digress, as I often do. Did I mention that the hostess provided lunch for the photographers? We were so grateful because by the time we got there, we were starving!! Lori, the hostess, had brought in lunch from a local sandwich place and the sandwiches were soooo good! I ate like… three… And some cookies… Hehehe

After lunch, the shoot officially started and we all went to our stations and “round-robbined” our way through the rest of the stations. All of us photographers got all the photos we needed pretty early on in the day. We ended up having enough time left with the venue, models, and daylight that all 5 of us just photographed the models for several hours after that! We got to take photos of them all over the venue and because there was only 5 of us photographers, we each really got to play with the models as much as we all wanted! I had fun playing with models, meeting other photographers, learning, growing, and growing my portfolio. I hope you enjoy the photos from this shoot!
